In Aberdeen on Sunday, Mike Ireland was crowned winner of the Scottish Open – the first champion for 12 years. Fifty two players took part in the tournament at the Holiday Inn in Aberdeen, a tournament that was last held more than a decade ago. The very 1st Aberdeen Granite City Backgammon Open is now available for registration! The new event is run by Aberdeen Backgammon Club and takes place on the weekend of May 5 – 7 at the Westhill Holiday Inn, Aberdeen. For all the details see here.

Tuesday night saw the first Backgammon Ayr meeting of 2023. It was very well attended and the Winter League recommenced.
Last night was Backgammon Ayr’s annual Christmas meal and 14 members enjoyed a lovely festive dinner at The Bell Rock. Many thanks to Jackie and everyone else at The Bell Rock for their hospitality. The next club night is the 10th of January. Thanks to all our members for their continued support.
